Warm Weather - Bring It ON!!!

OK, I'm so ready for some spring cleaning. I mean, how many of you out there can honestly say you think your house is a chicken coop? I sure enjoy these little birds and every now and then I can hear them cooing to each other. I'm going to miss that (a little). Their voices are changing every day and they're going to be mighty fine girls when they reach their peak. Every now and then I think I hear little "rooster" sounds, but I try to dismiss the thought of eating Aunt Rhoda in a pot of chicken soup. For now, our cute little pullets are learning new tricks every day, establishing their pecking order, sleeping through the night peacefully, and eating like little piggies.


The hen house it coming along nicely. The roof is mighty fine, the walls are withstanding high winds, and the floor is primed and ready to be painted with porch paint. This weekend, windows will be cut out and screens placed in, the little hen door will be cut out so they can come and go as they please during the day, and perhaps the fences will be placed around the coop so they won't fly away and will keep out unwanted guests. Pray for warm weather so these girls can be happy in their new digs!
