Yup, the first weekend in August is always the LeFevre Reunion. The Otho LeFevre's were represented by Gordon and Sherreldene and little poodle dog Teddy, Austin and Karen, Mary Lynn and her boyfriend, Jessica and Merrill, and Stacia. Sure had a nice visit with them and took a fun ride on Mary's friend's Polaris Bravo (I think that's what it's called). We went up Haycock Mountain to the top and looked over the whole beautiful valley - over the river and through the woods - man that buggy went over the worst terrain I've ever traversed - I'm stiff all over from bracing myself so's not to squish anyone or fall out. What a rush! There were lots of families that brought their 4-wheelers and enjoyed the country roads.
It was wonderful visiting with the cousins and enjoyed the fond big hugs and kisses. We are a kissy-huggy family and proud of it! It's just part of belonging to this great family, so we just have to get used to it! I love the old time stories and shared memories and look forward to hearing them over again next year. The reunion will go on because we need it to remind us of our heritage and the love that we can enjoy by strengthening our family ties.
Our family is in charge of the Friday night dinner next year - they want something "simple" like hot dogs and chips. Mark your calendars now for the first weekend of August 2009!

I think I missed the kissy-huggy gene. I want to run everytime I see Gordo coming at me. Just pat me on the shoulder. Sorry I missed the reunion. I'll try to plan better for next year.
