I've been just itchin' to get out in the garden and get my hands dirty! I have this nifty new trash can just for garden waste, and I feel the need to keep that puppy full! Today I went out and trimmed some of the dead limbs off the rock garden trees and pulled all the old dead debris out of the top. It wasn't all that bad because I cleaned it up last fall, but it's always fun to see what is popping up there, although mostly the only new things are weeds. I have a volunteer rose bush just growing out of the rocks. It's probably one of those that takes 8 years to bloom. The one that was going to be sacrificed to the rose gods last year had three roses last year, but this year looks like it's loaded. Guess that's what a little patience and pruning will do.The pond really needed some serious attention so I took my handy dandy rake and cleaned up all the green slime and pine needles and fixed the pump and got the hose all wound the rocks so it trickles over the waterfall and makes that wonderful gurgling sound we all love to listen to all summer. Looks like we have about a bizilliion little baby mosquito eaters, and I have 3 beautiful large gold fish that are 2 years old! One is black, one is orange, and the other is orange and white. That's the biggest one, and I'll be he's 8 inches long. What a guy! He probably has a hearty diet of mosquito eaters. I found a couple of plumbing issues that we need to fix asap, and maybe we'll try to find a real plumber to come and get the back yard sprinkler system fixed (hey, maybe he'll refurbish the whole system!) Tomorrow I'll try to tackle the patio and use my new Mother's Day presents! Should I keep Debbi's old couch? Nope... I'm going to have a garage sale in a couple weeks! I'll let you know how that goes!

Speaking of Mother's Day, it was wonderful to be able to have most of our kids with us on Saturday night at Becky's house. Sure did miss the ones that weren't able to be there, but we'll have lots of good times ahead. Good food, loud music, and lots of fun! I love you guys, and I'm so proud to be your mom and grandma. Yay, May!!!
